Hernandez Family hosts Tacos al Pastor Event!

The Knights of Columbus Council 3101 wishes to thank Brother Knight Hector Hernandez, his wife Martha and his entire family for hosting the "Tacos al pastor" event.

On Fathers Day, Sunday, June 21, 2009, the Knights of Columbus, Council 3101, in Clinton held their second parish meal event in honor of all the fathers of the parish.  Hector and his family almost single-handedly prepared tacos al pastor using the family recipe and al pastor method of preparing tacos for over 300 parishioners including tacos, refried beans, rice and dessert.  This event earned over $1,179 for the new parish hall project.

The Hernandez family recipe for the tacos al pastor, together with the red and green sauces, onions with cilantro, guacamole and various desserts provided a great parish meal and a chance for parishioners to visit with friends and acquaintances and enjoy a tremendous home cooked Mexican taco dinner.  Everyone who attended indicated that they completely enjoyed the food, fellowship and fun.  For those that missed this meal and the chance to share in our parish, Hector is excited about repeating this event in the near future.

Also assisting in the preparation, serving and clean-up were Grand Knight Bernardo Fuentez and his wife Hatsuko, Brother Knight Mike Harris and his wife Yvonne, and Financial Secretary Alan Aneshansley.  These brother Knights and their spouses again exhibited what it means to provide service to our parish at St. Mary's.  Any men over the age of 18 are encouraged to contact one of the Knights to discuss joining our organization.  The cost to join the Knights is $35 and proceeds go toward support of the church through such events as the Easter Egg Hunt, Mother's Day flowers and other worthy causes.  You may contact Bernie Fuentez at 580.819.2024, Mike Harris at 580.715.9096, or Alan Aneshansley at 580.445.5666 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
